Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just right.

If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of activities.

Then there is your individual sleeping style and arrangement to think about — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.

Much like baking, you need to get everything right, to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It is one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

Making Sleep Better Nectar Mattress Firm Sofr

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it emulats like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you take it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.

Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Firm Sofr

As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your lumbar area however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you choose a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.

Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. Nectar Mattress Firm Sofr

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a small tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know really being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to ascertain whether it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.

Your right mix of what you want and want to feel each night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
