The exterior colors were selected to bring out the myriad architectural details of the two-story, 1880s-style, new-old house.

The main staircase, faux-grained by the owner, makes its grand entrance.The Eastlake loveseat, discovered in a barn in upstate New York, was restored and upholstered by the owner.
The homeowner brought charm to the glass side panels of the front door by painting them to look like stained glass. The hall tree, originally one of a pair, belonged to her grandparents.
The vintage pump organ, which is missing its top section, came from a mansion down the street. The owner says thatâ€œitâ€™s really hard to pump;those Victorian ladies must have had legs of steel.â€
A Victorian vignette on a marble-topped table in the parlor shows off a hand-painted Bohemian vase, a fairy lamp on a candle stand, a silver plate card receiver and some of the ownerâ€™s elaborate stenciling. The portrait on the wall is a print by the Art Nouveau artist Angelo Asti.
This Qing Dynasty jar is one of the ownerâ€™s favorites. Her grandmother kept dried rose petals in it.
The owner bronzed a plaster statue of Herodias, King Herodâ€™s wicked granddaughter, and made it a focal point of the library, which is painted pumpkin color. She also made the lambrequin-style drapes.
The mahogany Aesthetic Movement Ã©tagÃ¨re on the wall by the breakfast table features carved cherry blossoms and griffin heads, colorful bezel jewels on its cabinet door and English Jacobean motifs, notably barley-twist columns.
In the dining room, the owner faux-grained the ceiling beams over the 1920s-1930s Spanish Revival dining room set. The rounded back Spanish Revival chairs are upholstered in burgundy chenille damask.
The midnight-blue master bedroom is the perfect setting for the 1920s Egyptian Revival chaise lounge. The mantel, which was bought on eBay and came from Philadelphia, is in the Eastlake style.
In the guest bathroom, a 19th-century French cabinet houses the sink. The color scheme, celery green with lots of gray, is picked up in the lacy shower curtain.
