Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about figuring out which mattress is just right for you.
If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. You might have missed a few calls, or maybe even a meet up with a friend, and your day’s wasted.
Then there’s your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because all of us know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you need to get everything right, to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge part in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
And today we’re reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the best mattresses out there — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a wide range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.

Building Better Sleep Classic Brands Adjustable Bed Versus Nectar Adjustable Bed
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you take it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Classic Brands Adjustable Bed Versus Nectar Adjustable Bed
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
Concerning firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.
It’s All About Positioning
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it may impact your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will enjoy the bed a lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your partner thanks to its movement isolation and edge support. Classic Brands Adjustable Bed Versus Nectar Adjustable Bed
Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was good.
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
