Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.

If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. You may have missed a few calls, or maybe even a meet up with a buddy, along with your day’s wasted.

Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to consider — because we all know if we don’t sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.

Much like baking, you have to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It is one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

And today we are reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the top mattresses out there — The Nectar Mattress. Making Sleep Better Ebates Nectar Mattress

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.

The Layer for Comfort

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not only comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Ebates Nectar Mattress

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

In terms of firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to worry about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative effect this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who like sleeping this way.

Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Ebates Nectar Mattress

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be tough on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Average Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our review, we know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best method to ascertain whether it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it is all about your own preference.

Your right mix of what you need and want to feel every night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as dating your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
