Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just right.
If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of activities.
Then there’s your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because we all know if we do not sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you have to get everything to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It is one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
And today we are reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the best mattresses on the market — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We are here to help you find out.

Building Better Sleep F the Nectar Mattress Weight Queen
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it will take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. F the Nectar Mattress Weight Queen
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to squishy, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.
It’s about Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions will not be as annoying with your spouse thanks to its motion isolation and edge support. F the Nectar Mattress Weight Queen
Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our review, we know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine whether it is for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
