Making Sleep Better How to Setup Nectar Bed

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help manage bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. How to Setup Nectar Bed

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.

In terms of firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it might impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.

Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. How to Setup Nectar Bed

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a little tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a great pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our trial , we know really being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain if it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, at the end of the day, it is all about your own preference.

Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
