Making Sleep Better Is Nectar Bed Comfortable

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it feels like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without it sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you take it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Is Nectar Bed Comfortable

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a wonderful pick for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other finding out. Is Nectar Bed Comfortable

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a small tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our review, we know really having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best method to determine whether it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, at the end of the day, it is all about your preference.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every night.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Perfect Sleep Begins Is Nectar Bed Comfortable
