Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.

If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.

Preferred sleeping settings also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the perfect way can affect how restful our sleep is.

Building Better Sleep Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Casper

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

The Layer for Comfort

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not only comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help manage bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Casper

Once you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to have to be very careful with that because it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to people who like sleeping this way.

Couples will appreciate the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as annoying with your partner due to its motion isolation and edge support. Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Casper

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Average Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our trial , we know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to determine whether it is for you. As much as we would like to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of what you want and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your bed over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
