Making Sleep Better Is Nectar Mattress Good?

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Good?

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.

It’s about Positioning

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.

Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Is Nectar Mattress Good?

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Average Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavyweight Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our reviewwe know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine whether it is for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Dreams Begin Is Nectar Mattress Good?

So is this the mattress for you?

If you’re not searching for a particularly squishy mattress, and perhaps if you are not a tummy sleeper then this may be the next and best addition to your home.

Thanks to the cost-efficient materials that provide a great price and equally as fantastic comfort, Nectar’s mattress is great option for your bedroom Nectar’s managed to create a memory foam with all of the pros, and significantly fewer drawbacks, which in itself already makes it at least worth giving serious consideration for.
