Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just right.
If you get too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of activities.
Preferred sleeping settings also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the ideal way can affect how restful our sleep is.
Much like baking, you have to get everything right, to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most reliable mattresses available right now available. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.

Building Better Sleep Is Nectar Mattress Soft?
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without it sagging too much.
And finally, the service core. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
How Does It Feel?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Soft?
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
Concerning firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll need to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you choose a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Is Nectar Mattress Soft?
Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was great.
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
