Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.

If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you are weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.

Preferred sleeping positions also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the perfect way can affect how restful our sleep is.

Making Sleep Better Jen Nectar Mattress

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it will take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Jen Nectar Mattress

Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you opt for a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.

Couples will enjoy the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as annoying with your spouse thanks to its movement isolation and edge support. Jen Nectar Mattress

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite little firm, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Average Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our review, we know really being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain if it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in the event of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Perfect Sleep Begins Jen Nectar Mattress

So is this the mattress for you?

If the bed you are looking for is one that’s not too firm, as well as you aren’t a stomach sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress may as well be the perfect addition to your sleeping apparatus.

With its affordable pricing, wonderful contraction, and great quality, the Nectar Mattress is a wonderful value pick. Nectar’s managed to make a memory foam with all of the pros, and significantly fewer drawbacks, which in itself makes it at least worth giving serious consideration for.
