Building Better Sleep Nectar Beds

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it feels like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.

Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Beds

Once you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.

Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. Nectar Beds

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite small firm, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain whether it is for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
