Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because all of us know if we do not sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Address
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without it sagging too much.
And finally, the support center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you take it out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Address
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
In terms of firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.
It’s about Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your lumbar area however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great pick for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to have to be very careful with this since it may impact your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless partner on the same mattress as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress Address
Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was great.
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our trial we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to determine whether it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel every night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
