Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of commitments.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and position to consider — because we all know if we don’t sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
Much like baking, you have to get everything to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proved itself to be one of the most best mattresses available right now in the market. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We are here to help you find out.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress and Heat
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help manage bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
And finally, the support center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it will take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress and Heat
As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll need to be very careful with this because it may impact your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress and Heat
Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was great.
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain whether it is for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
