Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just right.

If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of activities.

Then there’s your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because we all know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.

Much like baking, you need to get everything to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most best mattresses available right now in the market. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

Does it succeed? Is it all that? We’re here to help you find out.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Company History

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.

The Layer for Comfort

Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it will take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.

Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Company History

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who like sleeping this way.

Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions will not be as annoying with your spouse thanks to its motion isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Company History

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was great.

Heavy Sleepers

Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to ascertain if it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, only in the event of anything.
