Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just right.

If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of activities.

Then there is your individual sleeping style and arrangement to think about — because all of us know if we do not sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will fail.

Much like baking, you have to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.

And today we’re reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the best mattresses on the market — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a wide selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

Does it succeed? Is it all that? We’re here to help you find out.

Making Sleep Better Nectar Mattress Dust Mites

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.

The Layer for Comfort

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Dust Mites

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.

Concerning firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.

Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. Nectar Mattress Dust Mites

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress quite little firm, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and regardless of the sleeping place, it was great.

Heavy Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine whether it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.

Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in the event of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Perfect Sleep Begins Nectar Mattress Dust Mites
