Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about figuring out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you are weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because we all know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you have to get everything right, to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most best mattresses available right now in the market. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We are here to help you find out.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Gel Layer
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
And finally, the service center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Gel Layer
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress Gel Layer
Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress
Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to determine whether it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your bed over a long period of time rather than of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, only in the event of anything.
