Making Sleep Better Nectar Mattress is Horrible

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it feels like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it will take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress is Horrible

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great pick for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other finding out. Nectar Mattress is Horrible

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite little tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our trial we know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your bed over a long period of time rather than of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, only in the event of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Dreams Begin Nectar Mattress is Horrible

So is this the mattress for you?

If the mattress you are looking for is one that’s not too firm, as well as you aren’t a stomach sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress may as well be the perfect addition to your sleeping apparatus.

With its affordable pricing, wonderful contraction, and great quality, the Nectar Mattress is a wonderful value pick. Nectar’s managed to create a memory foam with all of the experts, and significantly fewer drawbacks, and that in itself already makes it worth giving serious consideration for.
