Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of activities.
Then there is your individual sleeping style and arrangement to consider — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
To be able to wake up completely rested, everything needs to be perfect very much like baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
And today we are reviewing one that is out to prove itself as one of the top mattresses out there — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a wide selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We are here to help you find out.
Before anything else, in case you’re in a hurry, or just prefer a more visual review, here is a video below by Kelly and Mar from the Nectar Sleep YouTube channel:
Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Odor
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
The Layer for Comfort
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs against your body without sagging too much.
And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Odor
Once you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you will feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others would.
It’s about Positioning
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your pelvic region however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress Odor
Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There’ll be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our review, we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best method to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel every night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time rather than of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
