Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Parts

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.

The Layer for Comfort

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.

Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Parts

As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your lumbar area however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a wonderful choice for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with that since it might impact your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Couples will enjoy the bed a whole lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as annoying with your partner due to its movement isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Parts

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was great.

Heavy Sleepers

Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our review, we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine if it is for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
