Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Pressure Map

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

The Layer for Comfort

Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.

Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Pressure Map

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress Pressure Map

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite small firm, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as dating your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
