Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Ships From Where

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without it sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Ships From Where

As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you will feel a soft embrace over your body. It has a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with this since it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Couples will appreciate the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions won’t be as annoying with your partner due to its motion isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Ships From Where

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was great.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial , we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain if it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
