Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.

If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. You might have missed some calls, or perhaps even a commitment with a buddy, and your day’s wasted.

Preferred sleeping positions also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the ideal way can affect how restful our sleep is.

To be able to wake up fully awake, everything needs to be according to plan very much like baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge role in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Spokeswoman

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

The Layer for Comfort

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Spokeswoman

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to worry about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a wonderful pick for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Couples will enjoy the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as annoying with your spouse thanks to its motion isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Spokeswoman

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite little tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was great.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it is all about your own preference.

Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, only in case of anything.
