Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Upper Back Pain

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Upper Back Pain

As soon as you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.

Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Couples will appreciate the bed a whole lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as bothersome with your partner thanks to its movement isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Upper Back Pain

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a little tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Average Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was good.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know really having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel each night.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, only in case of anything.
