Making Sleep Better Nectar Mattress Which Side is Up

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.

The Layer for Comfort

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it emulats like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support core. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Which Side is Up

As soon as you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you will feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative effect this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to have to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.

Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as bothersome with your partner due to its motion isolation and edge support. Nectar Mattress Which Side is Up

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a little firm, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Average Sleeper

The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain whether it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your bed over a long period of time rather than of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, only in the event of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Dreams Begin Nectar Mattress Which Side is Up

So is this the mattress for you?
