Making Sleep Better Puffy Mattress Compared to Nectar Mattress

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

The Layer for Comfort

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Puffy Mattress Compared to Nectar Mattress

Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.

Couples will enjoy the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as bothersome with your partner thanks to its movement isolation and edge support. Puffy Mattress Compared to Nectar Mattress

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our review, we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best method to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each night.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
