Building Better Sleep Puffy Mattress or Nectar

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Puffy Mattress or Nectar

As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.

It’s about Positioning

Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a wonderful pick for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to have to be very careful with that since it might impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.

Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other finding out. Puffy Mattress or Nectar

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress quite little tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Average Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our trial we know really having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine if it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.

It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in the event of anything.
