Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about figuring out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. You might have missed a few calls, or maybe even a commitment with a buddy, along with your day’s wasted.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and arrangement to think about — because we all know if we don’t sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you have to get everything right, to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge part in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most reliable mattresses available right now available. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.
And finally, the support core. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Purple Mattress V Nectar
As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a wonderful choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that because it might affect your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.
Couples will enjoy the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as annoying with your spouse due to its movement isolation and edge support. Purple Mattress V Nectar
Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a small tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There’ll be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a great pick.
Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain whether it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel each night.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
