Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you get too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. You may have missed some calls, or perhaps even a meet up with a buddy, and your day’s wasted.
Then there’s your personal sleeping style and arrangement to think about — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
To be able to wake up completely rested, everything needs to be perfect very much similar baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge part in that. It’s one of the important ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
And finally, the service core. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Queen Sized Nectar Mattress
As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you will feel a tender embrace over your body. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to worry about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your pelvic region however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. Queen Sized Nectar Mattress
Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a small tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was great.
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our trial we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain if it is for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel each night.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in the event of anything.
