Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of commitments.
Then there’s your personal sleeping style and position to think about — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
Much like baking, you have to get everything right, to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge role in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.
And today we’re reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the best mattresses on the market — The Nectar Mattress. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a broad range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We’re here to help you find out.

Building Better Sleep Ratings on Nectar Mattress
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was made so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without it sagging too much.
And finally, the support center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.
What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it will take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Ratings on Nectar Mattress
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you will feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
In terms of firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as annoying with your spouse due to its movement isolation and edge support. Ratings on Nectar Mattress
Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite little firm, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our trial we know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best method to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, only in case of anything.
