Building Better Sleep The Nectar Bed Frame

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.

Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. The Nectar Bed Frame

Once you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.

Couples will enjoy the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your partner due to its movement isolation and edge support. The Nectar Bed Frame

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavyweight Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our trial , we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a decision, it’s still all about your own preference and we can only act as mediators of information.

Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each night.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your bed over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.

Final Thoughts: Where Dreams Begin The Nectar Bed Frame

So is this the mattress for you?
