The Nectar. Memory Foam Mattress

Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just right.

If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. You may have missed a few calls, or perhaps even a meet up with a buddy, and your day’s wasted.

Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to consider — because we all know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.

Much like baking, you need to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge role in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

The Nectar Mattress has proved itself to be one of the most best mattresses available right now in the market. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a wide range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

Does the mattress actually walk the talk? Read further and find out what we have to say on this powerhouse of a mattress.

Before anything else, in case you’re in a hurry, or just prefer a more visual review, here is a video below by Kelly and Mar from the Nectar Sleep YouTube channel:

Making Sleep Better The Nectar. Memory Foam Mattress

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

The Layer for Comfort

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it feels like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help manage bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.

Support Layer

And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.

Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. The Nectar. Memory Foam Mattress

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.

Concerning firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that respect. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.

Positioning is the Key

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to have to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to people who like sleeping this way.

Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other finding out. The Nectar. Memory Foam Mattress

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a small firm, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Average Sleeper

The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was good.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it is a great pick.

Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress

Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our trial , we know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, at the end of the day, it is all about your own preference.

Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each evening.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your bed over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
