With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?

The Duvet

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.

Comfort Layer

Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the service center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.

Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Tuck Nectar Mattress Firmness

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the lighter side, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.

Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.

Couples will enjoy the bed a whole lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions will not be as annoying with your partner thanks to its motion isolation and edge support. Tuck Nectar Mattress Firmness

Body Types for Nectar

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a small tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.

However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was good.

Heavyweight Sleepers

Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our trial , we know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best way to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.

Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.

It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
