Making Sleep Better Wendy’s Nectar Mattress

With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.

Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover

Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.

Comfort Layer

Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.

The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.

Transitional Layer

For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.

Support Layer

And finally, the service core. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?

Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.

Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Wendy’s Nectar Mattress

After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.

In terms of firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.

It’s All About Positioning

So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.

If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.

For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great pick for this position.

Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll need to be very careful with that because it might affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.

Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your spouse due to its movement isolation and edge support. Wendy’s Nectar Mattress

Some Bodies to Love

For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.

The Lightweight Sleeper

As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.

However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.

The Typical Sleeper

The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.

Heavy Sleepers

For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it is a great pick.

The Sleep Test

Although we tried to cover as much as we could with our trial we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.

Your right mix of what you need and want to feel every evening.

As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.

It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in case of anything.
